One of
the main aims of the school and of the P.E.
Department is to provide all students, whatever
their academic or physical ability, with a
learning situation which will meet the needs of
the full range of ability and thereby encouraging
the philosophy of “SPORT FOR ALL”.
At Key Stage 3
we provide a broad and balanced range of
experiences. Activities covered are
football, basketball, rugby, racket
skills, netball, gym, dance, aerobics,
health related exercise, athletics,
rounders, tennis and swimming.
At Key Stage 4
we offer additional sporting
opportunities: - dry slope skiing,
‘working out’ in the new fitness studio,
kayaking, volleyball, trampolining and
golf are all popular option choices along
with the traditional sporting activities
At Key Stage
4, all students have the opportunity to
take GCSE Physical Education as well as
the Junior Sports Leadership course as
A-Level P.E.
is becoming more popular at KSHS. Our
first set of results were excellent and a
number of students are now attending
university studying for degrees in Sports
Science and Physiotherapy.
The school has a sports hall, gymnasium,
fields on site, playground with netball,
basketball and tennis courts. A new
fitness studio has opened this year.
The school also uses Redbridge Sports
Centre, Barkingside Swimming Pool, Fairlop
Waters, Abridge Golf Club and Brentwood
Ski Centre.
