The computer facilities and Internet are
provided for pupils to complete school work and
conduct research appropriate to their work.
Remember that access is a privilege, not a
right, and that access requires responsibility.
Individual users of the systems and Internet are
responsible for their behaviour and
communications over the network.
Outline:
Stealing, damaging or an vandalism caused to the
computers is illegal. Any student
caught unplugging or stealing a mouse/keyboard
will be dealt with appropriately by the school
or governing body i.e. police.
The following are not permitted:
Going into any package or area not readily
available for the individual user.
Accessing any area other than the users
personal area.
Tampering with other peoples files.
Accessing or changing settings.
Searching for, sending or displaying offensive
messages or pictures.
Using obscene language.
Using Chat facilities on the internet
Harassing, insulting or attacking others.
Damaging computers, computer systems or
computer networks.
Violating copyright laws.
Sanctions:
Violations of the above rules will result in a
temporary or permanent ban using computer
systems and/or the Internet.
Additional disciplinary action may be added in
line with existing practice on inappropriate
language or behaviour.
When applicable, further action may be taken
as appropriate. |
